Dubsado Canned emails....reminds me of canned laughter

I don’t know about you, but I could do with a laugh at the moment. Any opportunity to watch an entertaining television comedy show and laugh along to some canned laughter.

Canned laughter was introduced back in the 1950's and audiences could be a bit hit and miss when they laughed in the right places and TV companies needed something that was both realistic and laughed in the right places and was repetitive.

Now that brings to me Dubsado and the canned emails, which are the repetitive emails, sent at just the right time in your client journey.

Do any of the statements relate to things you say to yourself??:

>> I DON’T SAY THE SAME THING EVERY TIME.

Yeah you do. Your salutation and closing may be different, but the meat of your message is generally the same. Orrrr your middle message may basically be the same, but your opening and closing are a tad different. Go have a look at the emails you send to your clients and potential clients.

>> I CUSTOMISE EVERYTHING.

Do you really? That has GOT to be time consuming. You should book a session with me so we can consolidate the set(s) of offerings you have so you can maximise your time. But really, even if you customise each offering or deck or proposal, whatever for every person you communicate with in that vein, I’m 98% sure that those customised items are comprised of standard sets of items, text, etc.

>> I LIKE MY EMAILS TO HAVE A PERSONAL TOUCH.

You’re writing them, they’re personal… and that’s as personal as digital communication can get.

All you need is to write thoughtful emails with all our clients in mind and how those emails fit into their journey with you. You only need to write them once!!

Canned emails are meant to be used from client to client. So what happens when you need that template to be customised with the client's details or information about their project? You could always manually edit your email before you send it and type in the client's name, but there is an easier way!

SMART FIELDS

What are Smart Fields?

A smart field is a text placeholder you can use in your email and form templates that will autofill once added to a project. Dubsado smart fields can be identified by their double curly braces like below:

{{client.firstName}}

The example above will autofill with the client's first name. If you put this smart field in a canned email and then send it through a project, the smart field placeholder will be replaced by the client's first name. Pretty cool, huh?

You can even use the smart fields in your subject line too,

MAKE A LIST OF ALL THE EMAILS YOU NEED

If you’re just browsing here and are going to DIY your Dubsado without any help, you’ll need to start by making a list of all the emails you need in your workflow. What checkpoints do you have with clients? Leads? Onboarding? Throughout the project? List them all then start chipping away at the list.

ADD THE EMAILS TO YOUR WORKFLOW

After you’ve written all these emails, you need to add each to the corresponding spot in your workflow (client journey). The upfront investment of time to do this is counteracted by the time you will save when Dubsado is up and running for you!

You see it's not impersonal after all is it, in fact some would say it's more personal and gives your clients the very best service that looks good and is efficient. The best bit is.....it saves you time as well!!

If you are new to Dubsado then you may be a bit overwhelmed by what to create and how to implement everything. There are lots of videos online that can guide you or if you prefer something a little but more simple then maybe my complete set up Workbook for Dubsado would help you. It's really easy to follow and very affordable. CLICK HERE for the information about this.
